Salem Baptist Church's Children's Ministry exists to reach out, join in, grow up, go out, lift up, and help out as we build a life-changing community.
We
seek to sow the seeds of outreach in our programs. Through invite-a-friend
events and life application in their homes, schools, and communities, we hope
that children will reach out to others with God's love.
Caring
for friends and neighbors is a tangible way to show God's love to others.
Our community of teachers and care-givers demonstrate caring and allow children
to join in a community which cares for others.
It
is our goal that children may grow in the knowledge of Christ. As they make
a Spirit-led decision to accept Jesus as their Lord and Savior and grow in
the faith, we strive to communicate the gospel message.
We
encourage kids to share their talents in service to God. By hearing the message
of being who God created us to be, kids feel confident to use their unique
talents for God and others. They do this in our church building as well as
outside our walls.
We
want our children to know that they are part of a global community. They learn
about other countries and help support missionaries there. Salem's children
"go out" through seasonal projects such as gathering shoes for orphans
or sending Spanish-language Bible books to South America.
We
worship God in a variety of ways. Songs, drama, spoken word, and creative
activities all help children recognize that our response to a loving God is
worship, and that they can lift up their needs to God through prayer.
Our children's ministries are quite active, including nursery, Sunday school for children ages four years through fifth grade, Sunday morning Truth-Seekers Children's Worship (four years through third grade), Wednesday night AWANA (three years through second grade), Wednesday night BLAST (third through fifth grade),and more.
Our mission is to build up children who reach out to others, join in God's care for their community, grow up in the Christian faith, help out with their unique gifts, go out into God's world, and lift up their praises and needs to God.
Salem's children's programs are led by devoted, caring volunteers, under the supervision of the Children's Ministry Team. The coordinators can answer any questions you may have about particular programs. Contact them by e-mail or by phone at 651-633-7515 Ext. 3216.
